PRIVATE POTTERY
LESSONS
One-on-one clay lessons are an accelerated way to learn, and can be booked at custom times if group classes don’t work with your schedule. We offer private lessons in hand building or the wheel, for beginner or continuing students. Wherever you’re at, we’ll match you with a teacher who’s right for you!

ABOUT OUR PRIVATE LESSONS

Lessons provide a balance of hands-on instruction, verbal instruction, and independent practice
Lessons are purchased in advance, in a package of 3-6 sessions, as the full process from mud to glazed piece takes a minimum of 3 studio visits
Lessons are 2.5 hours long, with 2 hours of instruction time and 30 minutes of setup/cleanup.
Private lessons can be booked with one person or with a pair of people who commit to the same schedule
You have the option to learn glazing, or to have the studio glaze for you so you can focus on developing other skills
If you’re interested in a studio membership at Claymates, we require a minimum of 6 lessons to prepare you for operating independently in the studio, including one glazing lesson

Private lessons are not refundable
Please give 24 hours notice via email if you need to reschedule your lesson; within 24 hours the lesson is not reschedulable
All lessons in your package must be used within one year of purchase; after this point they expire

We offer sets of private lessons for one person or two people who commit to the same schedule.

4 lessons: $800
5 lessons: $1000
6 lessons: $1200Prices do not include GST.

Lessons are sold in sets of 3-6 only, and payment for the set is required up front in order to book dates.
